Information: Newly Designed Water Pump Gasket
Models: All 1981 thru 1995 6 Cylinder Engines

The gasket found between the water pump body and the water return inlet neck
(see right) has been redesigned. This gasket is now made of thin sheet metal
with a rubber coating on both sides. This new gasket also protrudes on both
sides to act as a shield for any debris trying to enter the timing belt
pathway.
The gasket can only be installed one way, protrusions facing up and
the straight edge toward the belts.
Note: This gasket has sharp edges! Trimming of the
four corners, is advisable. (see below).
