"Courtesy lights not coming on"
 
   When I open the door, the courtesy lights don't come on. The bulbs work - I can switch them on and off individually, but not when the doors open. The lights in the bottoms of the doors work fine when I open the doors - as do the little red lights on the back edges of the doors. It's just the courtesy lights that don't.

Car is a 1990 12 vlave.

   I think the problem is also related to your fog light problem. I think your relays are not in there proper places. I had the same problem with one of my 12valve cars and I had a look at another 164 and the relays were switched.

   Thanks, that's interesting! I thought all the relays (except the fuel pump relay) were the same??? I've certainly been swapping relays about to try and find the fault. (Trouble is, I can't remember what went where now)!
