"Is the Brera on the Premium or on the Epsilon platform?"

Some sources on the web say the Brera is on the GM Premium platform like the 159 (the Premium platform was developed in Sweden between Alfa and Saab, but Saab backed out so now it is only used by Alfa although GM retains intellectual property rights to it).

Other sources say the Brera is on the GM Epsilon platform, which is already used in the Saab 9-3, Chevrolet Malibu, Pontiac G6, and Opel Vectra. Or do they mean the Epsilon II platform?

I tend to believe the Brera is on the GM Premium platform like the 159, but if anybody can corroborate this with better sources than news stories on the web, please let your sources be known.

Italiaspeed (who seem to be offline a lot lately) quote the Premium platform for the Brera. I don't think they have even mentioned anything about the Epsilon platform.

By the way, when GM pulled Saab out, it meant the platform was tuned for the Alfa which I think is a real bonus. The amazing thing about this platform is the structural rigidity it gives; up there with SUV's.
